Freeport Mayor Hopes Trail Extension Will Increase Tourism

Freeport (WIFR) -- Freeport mayor Jim Gitz hopes expanding a recreation trail will bring more people to the pretzel city.

A $1.5 million extension of the Jane Addams Trail is in the works to link Freeport to the Wisconsin state-line by 2015. The mayor hopes the trail will draw visitors to spend money at local shops, diners, and gas stations.

The project is set to begin next year.
