According to some rumors surfacing the web lately, Apple will launch its next iPhone sometime in the second half of this year. Further, the other major players on the mobile market are rumored to release their own new flagship devices to fight off Apple?s product.
Online publication DigiTimes claims that has information coming from industry sources according to which three major companies, namely Samsung, LG and HTC, are going to launch new flagship handsets in the third quarter of 2013. Right from the start we recommend you to take this with a grain of salt because DigiTimes is not so accurate with this kind of news.
Nevertheless, the website names the devices that have been mentioned by other previous reports (the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the HTC Butterfly 2 and the LG Optimus G2), thus it will not be such a big surprise to see the devices get launched in the near future.
Now, let?s see what we have here. Samsung is rumored to be planning a Galaxy Note 3 release date in Q3 2013, and DigiTimes mentions several technical specifications that have been rumored before. It seems that the Galaxy Note 3 will come with a 5.99-inch AMOLED full HD screen and will be powered by the awesome Exynos 5 Octa processor, though the previous reports also specified a possibility of it being underpinned by a quad-core CPU.
The second phone maker rumored to prepare a new high-end device is HTC, which is said to be launching the successor of the HTC Butterfly. The handset has reportedly been spotted in an ORA test not long ago. It looks like it will be sporting a big display that will have a full HD resolution (unfortunately the size of the screen has not been mentioned). Also, the HTC Butterfly 2 will include some of the features that can be found on the HTC One such as BlinkFeed. Among other features, the HTC Butterly 2 will allegedly come with an Ultrapixel camera and BoomSound speakers, also.
The third manufacturer to be releasing a new flagship is LG with is Optimus G2. This is not the first rumor claiming that the device will be launched this year as there have been several reports claiming that the Optimus G2 has already been put to the benchmark test. Also, it has been allegedly spotted in Bluetooth SIG and we even had to leaked photos. Naturally, none of the rumors have been confirmed by the South Korean company yet. Anyway, today?s rumor suggests that the smartphone will feature a 5-inch full HD screen, and in terms of hardware we have the Snapdragon 800 pointed out. We expect that we will get more information, official this time, at the LG Macau event which will be held on May 30, a date which has also been rumored to be the release date of the Optimus G2.
Even if we are still not sure what is going to happen in the following months, it?s clear that some new smartphones are going to appear on the market. It?s not like companies like Samsung, LG or HTC are going to let Apple play all by itself.
If the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, HTC Butterfly 2, and LG Optimus G2 will be launched , which one would you guys be interested in? Leave us your comments down below.
