Robert Kroboth, Mayor Linda Thompson?s finance director, told the Harrisburg City Council last night that he has too much work to do, and that?s why audit reports for three years haven?t been done.
Kroboth said he has been acting as the city?s business administrator and chief of staff, and has chosen to focus his energies on Harrisburg?s immediate survival.
?Not until we get a business administrator and a senior accountant on board will we be able to address the responsibilities like we did prior to 2010,? he said.
Tracey Rash, with accounting firm Maher Duessel, said she is waiting for as many as 30 forms to do the 2009 audit. She said the majority are standard documents that have been required in previous audits. Rash noted she received several forms from the Thompson administration this week.
Councilwoman Susan Brown-Wilson said the incomplete audits are delaying state and federal grants.
Council President Wanda Williams has asked Rash and Kroboth to attend council?s legislative session April 25
